Deputy Shift Supervisor

Location: RAF Brize Norton, Carterton Oxfordshire, OX18 3LX

Type: Permanent, Full time

Salary: £34,065.94 (Inclusive of a 20% shift allowance) plus benefits

Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support at RAF Brize Norton since 1997, supporting the RAF and MoD with around 20 onsite services, including engine and aircraft maintenance, fueling, and ground control. RAF Brize Norton is the largest RAF operating base, providing air transport and refueling services.

We are seeking an Airfield Transport Section Deputy Shift Supervisor to join our team.

Main responsibilities:

• Supervise airfield drivers in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
• Assist with the control and daily operations of the Airfield Transport Section.
• Task and supervise staff within delegated authority.
• Monitor staff attendance and performance.
• Ensure drivers have necessary documentation and equipment.
• Report and process vehicle and equipment faults and breakdowns.
• Allocate trained personnel and vehicles appropriately.
• Brief drivers and provide necessary information for tasks.
• Allocate resources efficiently to meet objectives.
• Comply with policies regarding Dangerous Goods, insurance, ADR, and safety.
• Ensure the area meets contractual and operational requirements.
• Train and develop staff competencies.
• Promote a safety-first culture with zero harm and open reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Use management systems effectively to streamline activities.
• Ensure delivery of quality and efficient output.
• Operate all required vehicles to fulfill contractual obligations.

Candidate requirements:

• Full Driving Licence Cat C+E (D, D1 desirable).
• Valid DCPC qualification.
• Current vocational medical.
• Color perception CP2 (proof required before employment).
• ADR Licence (training available if needed).
