Role Description:

As a self-starter, you will develop new technology areas leveraging existing capabilities. Your responsibilities include planning, procuring, and managing the construction laboratory in compliance with regulations. You will lead a team of civil engineers to apply cement and concrete chemistry knowledge for carbon capture and utilisation in concrete, and evaluate CCU techniques on the properties and long-term performance of cement-based materials.

Candidate Specifications:

• At least 5 years post-PhD experience leading independent research, capable of designing and conducting research to answer fundamental scientific questions.
• Experience in laboratory setup, HSE requirements, equipment specification development, and procurement.
• Understanding carbonation mechanisms and critical assessment of CO2 uptake and concrete performance over various life stages.
• R&D experience in the construction industry.
