Job description:

As R&D Civil Engineer, you are a self-starter capable of developing new technology areas leveraging existing capabilities and expertise. Your responsibilities include planning, procuring, and managing the construction laboratory in compliance with regulations. You will lead a team of civil engineers to apply cement and concrete chemistry knowledge for carbon capture and utilisation in concrete, and evaluate CCU techniques on the properties and long-term performance of cement-based materials.

Person's specifications:

• 5 years post-PhD experience leading independent research, with the ability to design and conduct research addressing fundamental scientific questions
• Experience in laboratory setup, HSE requirements, equipment specification development, and procurement
• Understanding carbonation mechanisms and critical assessment of CO2 uptake and concrete performance throughout various life stages (product, use, end-of-life)
• Team management skills
• R&D experience in the construction industry
