Location: Londonderry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Causeway Coast & Glens

Your new company
A large public sector organisation based in Derry/Londonderry that provides environmental services to the Derry and Strabane area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control. They have an immediate requirement for an Environmental Health Officer.

Your new role
This is a temporary contract position, ideally for someone available to start immediately or at short notice. The role is based in Derry City, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Carry out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
2. The role may cover one or more of the following service areas initially, with the possibility of developing expertise in other areas as needed:

• Public Health
• Food Safety
• Health and Safety at Work
• Consumer Protection
• Private Sector Housing

What you'll need to succeed

• A relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Health (e.g., Degree or Diploma), recognized by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), enabling graduate or voting membership, or an equivalent body.
• At least one year of experience in the field of Environmental Health, including placement year.
• A full current UK driving licence and access to suitable transportation.
