Job summary

Cooper Parry in the UK invites placement year students to join its Audit team across East Midlands and Birmingham. You will support statutory audits for a diverse client base, gain hands-on experience, and work toward becoming a qualified accountant.

This placement begins in early September 2027 with Assessment Centres on 4 November, 26 January, and 30 March, offering a collaborative environment to develop technical and communication skills while balancing academic commitments.

Qualifications

• You'll be currently studying an undergraduate degree, looking for a placement year as part of your 4 year programme
• You'll need a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades BBC, including at least one numerical or business-related subject.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and documenting client information like invoices, bank statements, and payroll reports
• Assessing the accuracy and reliability of financial data
• Attending client year-end stocktakes (sometimes on weekends or around Christmas)
• Communicating with client finance teams to understand their systems and processes
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements using our audit software
• Working in small teams to carry out financial testing and contribute to audit reports
• Meeting deadlines and supporting your team to deliver high-quality work
