Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking an Earthworks Technician to join the Infrastructure Division. You will be part of the Materials Testing team, assessing concrete, earthworks, aggregates and bituminous mixtures to ensure compliance with specifications.

Testing will be conducted on-site and in the laboratory, following British, European and American standards. We value organisation, attention to detail and clear communication with managers and clients.

Qualifications

• CSCS preferred but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-situ earthworks testing on busy projects and testing in the laboratory when not on site.
• Sample and schedule materials for laboratory submission.
• Train colleagues to enhance team capabilities.
• Read and understand earthworks specifications and follow procedures.
• Maintain worksheets and ensure all testing is completed on time.

We are looking for a dependable,dedicatedand flexibleEarthworksTechnician to join our UKAS accredited Materials team. As a member of Materials, it is key that youare able tothrive in a team environment, as well as independently. The fundamental part of the role it todeterminethe physical properties of a wide range of materials including concrete, earthworks,aggregatesand bituminous mixtures to ensure compliance with specifications. All testing will be undertaken in line with a range of British,Europeanand American standards so a good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures isrequired.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

Working on busy earthworks projects performing in-situ testing, as well as carrying out testing in the laboratorywhen not on site.

Sampling and scheduling of materials for submission to the laboratory.

Train colleagues to better their knowledge and further enhance the capabilities of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will be able todemonstrate:

Good organisation skills, making sure that all testing is completed and all worksheets are filled infully.

That you can read and understand an earthworks specification.

Great communicationwith managers and clients.

Excellent time management, ensuring you are on site when you need to be.

You can work to the relevant standards for the tests you are performing.

Qualifications

To be a successful Earthworks Technician, you should be able to demonstrate:

• CSCS preferable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
