Job summary

Lift Caldicotes is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support learning and development in our Middlesbrough school. You’ll work closely with teachers to help students access lessons, support those with SEND, and build a caring, nurturing environment where children grow more independent each day.

You will foster positive relationships, support wellbeing, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on high standards of pupil achievement across early years settings.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or working towards it.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above).
  • Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1 or EYFS.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND.
  • Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.
  • Understanding of child development and how children learn.
  • Positive behaviour management experience.
  • UK right to work - sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

  • Support students to access lesson content and achieve their learning goals, including those with specific SEND needs.
  • Work with teachers to plan engaging lessons and assess progress.
  • Help students build independent learning skills and monitor their progress.
  • Work with small groups or individuals on targeted activities.
  • Create positive relationships and support wellbeing and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and carers to help every student succeed.
  • Be flexible to support in all areas of the school as needed.
