Job summary

Tudhoe Moor Nursery School is seeking a confident, enthusiastic Early Years practitioner to join our team. The post is permanent and part time, 8.30am–4.15pm, with until 5.00pm on Wednesdays, term time only plus two weeks.

You will work with children aged 0–5, be a key worker for a group, and support inclusions for children with additional needs. An enhanced DBS and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in Early Years with children who have additional needs is essential.
• Willingness to help in other areas of the classroom and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to converse at ease with customers in accurate spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Be a key worker for a group of children aged 0–5.
• Support inclusion and children with additional needs within the Early Years setting.
• Be flexible to cover other areas of the classroom as required.
• Work as part of the Early Years Team to support pupils and families.

The Head Teacher and Governing Body of Tudhoe Moor Nursery School wish to appoint a confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Early Years Team. This post is offered on a permanent contract.

The position is to work alongside pupils between the ages of 0 to 5 years old. The position is part time from 8.30am to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday, plus till 5.00pm on a Wednesday.

The successful candidate will be confident and passionate about working with all pupils as well as being a key worker for a group of children. We are an inclusive school therefore experience of working in Early Years with children who have additional needs is essential. They will have a can-do attitude and willingness to help in other areas of the classroom, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay

Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:

• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:

40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:

40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
