Job summary

The Grange Primary School is seeking a dedicated Early Years support assistant to work alongside our Early Years teachers and wider team to support children's learning through play and targeted activities.

You will provide individual and small-group support, adapt activities to meet diverse needs, support phonics and language development, and help create a safe, welcoming environment. A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children, ideally in an Early Years setting.
• Understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Patient, nurturing, positive, and able to build strong relationships with children.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and helping every child succeed.
• Ability to use initiative while working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through purposeful play and engaging activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support, adapting activities to meet children's needs.
• Help develop children's early communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Support early phonics and the development of positive learning behaviours.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and welcoming learning environment.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure all children, including those with additional needs, are fully included in school life.
