Job summary

The Grange Primary School in Scunthorpe is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant for our Early Years team to support children’s learning through purposeful play and engage with families where needed. You will provide individual and small-group support, help develop early communication, literacy and numeracy, and assist with phonics while fostering a safe, welcoming learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children, ideally in an Early Years setting.
• Good understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Patient, nurturing, positive and able to build strong relationships with children.
• Understands learning through play and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through purposeful play and engaging activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support, adapting activities to meet children's needs.
• Help develop children's early communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Support early phonics and development of positive learning behaviours.
