Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an Early Years Expert at Hand Advisor to support developmentally young children across settings and schools. You will promote inclusion, advise on strategies, and work with families and professionals to improve learning outcomes.

The role requires a Level 6 Early Years qualification, experience with SEND, and willingness to travel to multiple venues. A DBS check will be undertaken, with flexible working options discussed.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 6 qualification in Early Years (e.g. Q.E.Y.T. or similar) with SEND development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of school readiness and how to support settings, schools and families.
• Experience observing and evaluating learning quality and providing feedback to staff.

Responsibilities

• Model strategies and give advice for settings and schools to support developmentally young children.
• Support schools and childcare to develop inclusive provision and curriculum.
• Offer guidance to parents and professionals on SEND and signpost to other services.
• Keep records as required by the Senior SEND Advisors.
• Occasional work outside normal hours and training attendance as required.
