Job Title: Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant (ASC & ADHD Experience)
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Mornings only

Job Description:
Are you a passionate and dedicated Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD? Do you have excellent spoken English and an engaging, friendly personality? If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for a caring and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at a school, based in Birmingham.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASC and ADHD, and will be able to provide both academic and emotional support to help children thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with ASC and ADHD in the Early Years setting.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a structured, engaging, and safe learning environment.
  • Support children with their social, emotional, and academic development, using strategies tailored to their individual needs.
  • Encourage childrens independence and positive behaviour through engaging, consistent, and proactive methods.
  • Use clear, positive communication to support children in their learning and daily activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement and monitor individual learning plans and strategies.
  • Promote inclusion, ensuring that all children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Assist with personal care as required in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and well-being and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children in an Early Years setting, ideally with children with ASC and ADHD.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges associated with ASC and ADHD.
  • Good spoken English with clear communication skills, both with children and adults.
  • A warm, friendly, and engaging personality with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and engaging techniques.
  • Patient, calm, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff.
