Job summary

Shooting Stars Nurseries Bromsgrove is seeking an experienced Early Years Room Leader to head the Pre-Toddler Room. You will lead a dedicated team, develop staff through coaching, and maintain high standards of care and education in line with EYFS.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering an attractive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package. You will be responsible for safeguarding, building strong relationships with families, and driving quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher.
• Experience as Room Leader or similar leadership role in a nursery.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and child development.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pre-Toddler Room on a day-to-day basis.
• Coach and develop a team of practitioners and apprentices.
• Build strong, positive relationships with families as Key Person.
• Plan engaging activities in line with EYFS and ensure safeguarding standards.

• Monday to Friday, all-year-round nursery, closed on Bank Holidays

What You'll Be Doing

As our Room Leader, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Pre-Toddler Room.
• Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children thrive.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of practitioners, apprentices and students.
• Act as a Key Person and build strong, positive relationships with families.
• Plan and oversee engaging activities in line with the EYFS.
• Support children's learning, development and wellbeing.
• Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs.
• Maintain outstanding safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare standards.
• Drive quality improvement and support nursery inspection readiness.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, Third in Charge or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
