Job summary

Shooting Stars Kings Norton is seeking an experienced Early Years Room Leader to head a nursery room and support colleagues. You will lead learning, develop practice and build strong relationships with children and families.

The role requires Level 3 Early Years qualification, prior room leadership experience, and strong knowledge of the EYFS. It is a full-time, permanent position offering £15.30 per hour and a 40-hour week, with enhanced training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Previous experience as a Room Leader, Team Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, Third in Charge or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting and developing colleagues.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of your designated nursery room.
• Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
• Lead, motivate and support a team of practitioners, apprentices and students.
• Act as a Key Person and build strong relationships with children and families.
• Plan and oversee engaging learning opportunities in line with the EYFS.
• Monitor children's development and support their individual learning journeys.
• Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing.
• Drive continuous improvement and support quality throughout the nursery.
• Work collaboratively with the management team to deliver exceptional childcare and early education.
