Job summary

Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking a Lunch Cover Early Years Practitioner to join the team in Harpenden. You will plan and deliver engaging activities, ensure a safe learning environment, and support children toward developmental milestones while building strong partnerships with parents and colleagues.

The role requires Level 3 Early Years qualification, EYFS knowledge, safeguarding awareness, and a DBS check prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with colleagues and parents/carers.

• Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities tailored to each child to support milestones.
• Create a safe environment that allows children to express themselves and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Nursery: Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool

Hourly rate: Starting from £13.50ph (Level 2), £14.04ph (Level 3), dependent on qualification/s and experience

Location: Harpenden

Hours: 11am-3pm Monday-Friday

We’re looking for a lunch cover role to join our Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool, situated in Harpenden, just a short distance from the town centre with onsite parking available. We are Ofsted rated ‘Good’.

The nursery is set in a beautiful converted Victorian house with seven spacious rooms spread over three floors, including a ‘must-see’ log cabin nursery room. The nursery also benefits from a large outdoor play area which the children enjoy regularly!

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning.
