Job summary

Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to cover lunch times. This part-time role runs 11:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, at our Bristol (BS3) site.

The nursery supports a 56-place setting with a garden, Forest School, and a focus on learning through play. You will plan engaging activities, ensure child safety, and support development with a collaborative team and engaged parents.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3+ Early Years qualification
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of EYFS
• Safeguarding and child protection knowledge
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities tailored to each of your key children to encourage development towards milestones
• Create a safe environment that allows children to express themselves and engage their minds
• Help foster a lifelong love of learning for all ages

We're looking for an Early Years Practitioner Lunch Cover to join our Bristol Day Nursery!

The 56 place nursery, has a real home from home feel, with many of our staff with 10+ years service. The nursery has recently undergone a full refurbishment and boasts an impressive outdoor space with pagoda's, mud kitchens and lots of room to explore and play. All rooms have access to the garden and use it daily to support children's physical development. The indoor area is also spacious and offers an array of learning opportunities for all age groups; from the calming sleep area in the baby room, to loose parts play and a curiosity corner in our Toddler room. We offer a school readiness programme in preschool as well as opportunities for Forest School sessions, mindfulness and gentle stretching and exciting opportunities for experiments and science activities. The Preschool children champion our Eco-Schools accreditation with the support of the wider nursery.

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning.

What we're looking for

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
