Job summary

Tops Day Nurseries Ltd. is hiring a Nursery Practitioner in Torquay, Devon.

You will support the educational and social development of children up to age five, maintain a safe learning environment, and deliver age-appropriate activities as part of a dedicated team. Working full time (35-40 hours per week) on a 35-40 hour schedule, you’ll contribute to high-quality care, safeguarding and EYFS practice, with DBS checks and an inclusive, employee-owned culture as part of the UK’s largest childcare

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Level 2 Early Years Qualification is required.
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day care, including feeding, changing diapers, and helping children with toilet training.
• Developing and leading fun, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development, focusing on social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
• Observing children’s development and identifying any areas of concern; support motor, language, and social interactions through play and structured learning.
• Ensuring children are safe and emotionally supported, creating an environment that encourages exploration and independent learning.
• Keeping records of each child’s progress, milestones, behaviors, and developmental needs within EYFS guidelines.
• Maintaining regular communication with parents or guardians about progress, needs, and concerns.
