Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Ashfield North Family Hub role supports children aged 0–9 and their families across community venues and family homes in Ashfield North. You will plan engaging play and learning activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage while supporting families with children under three.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, collaboration and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with children aged 0–5 and their families.
• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent).
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child development and early intervention.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver play and learning activities that inspire and engage children.
• Work closely with parents, acting as their child’s first educator.
• Assess and record children’s development, contributing to evaluations.
• Promote inclusive practices and support children with SEND.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for families.
• Engage with diverse and seldom-heard families, ensuring everyone feels included.
