Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group Newport Nursery on the Isle of Wight is seeking an Early Years Practitioner. Join a play-based learning environment where you help children learn, grow and thrive with supportive colleagues and a strong safeguarding focus.

We welcome applicants with Level 2/3 Early Years qualifications or those studying towards one, or transferable experience. The role offers 40 hours over four days, with options for part-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, or working towards one, or transferable experience.
• Caring, patient, dependable and enthusiastic about helping children thrive.
• Willing to follow the EYFS framework and complete observations and records.

Responsibilities

• Build warm and secure relationships with children.
• Support children’s confidence, independence and emotional development.
• Create engaging opportunities to learn through play.
• Observe children’s development and use findings to guide next steps.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive nursery environment.
