Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join welcoming early years settings in Yeovil, England. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with hourly pay of £14.25–£17.50 and an Agency contract.

You will support learning through play, ensure a safe, inclusive environment, and help with EYFS activities. A Level 2/3 Early Years qualification and DBS Update Service are desirable.

Qualifications

• Relevant Early Years qualifications are desirable (Level 2 or Level 3).
• Experience in nursery, preschool, or early years settings is preferred.
• Sound understanding of the EYFS framework.

Responsibilities

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:

• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities
• Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment
• Encourage children's social, emotional, and communication development
• Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Observe, monitor, and record children's progress
• Support children's personal care needs where required
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from candidates who:

• Hold a relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable)
• Have previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting
• Have a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Are caring, patient, and passionate about early childhood development
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Are committed to creating positive learning experiences for young children
• Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply for one
