Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an Early Years Practitioner for a permanent role in Highbridge. You will support Nursery/Reception, plan and deliver play-based activities, and provide high-quality EYFS care.

The role requires Level 3 EY/Childcare, Paediatric First Aid, and an active DBS (Update Service) with the right to work in the UK. Working hours are 08:15–15:15, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential).
• Paediatric First Aid certificate (essential).
• Experience in an Early Years environment.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support children across Nursery/Reception within the school's Early Years setting.
• Assist with planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning activities.
• Provide high-quality care in line with EYFS requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and wider EYFS team.

Early Years Practitioner – Permanent Role

Location: Highbridge, Somerset
Start: ASAP
Hours: 08:15 – 15:15, Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.96 – £16.30 per hour (Dependant on Pay Type)

The Role

• Supporting children across Nursery/Reception within the school's Early Years setting
• Assisting with planning and delivering engaging, play‑based learning activities
• Providing high‑quality care in line with EYFS requirements
• Working collaboratively with the classroom teacher and wider EYFS team
• Offering 1:1 or group support where required
• Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
• Paediatric First Aid certificate – essential
• Experience working within an Early Years environment
• A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
• An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
