The Role

To be involved in planning, supervision and facilitating appropriately balanced early years learning experiences that follow Curriculum for Excellence and the Pre-Birth to Three Curriculum. Provide a caring, safe, and welcoming environment for children, allowing each child to develop at their own pace. Planning will be guided by current national guidance, relevant documentation, and child-led learning approaches.

Stirling, FK8 1AF

Salary:

£12.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe, record, and plan through interaction to meet individual children's needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate children's development using ILD and Learning Intentions, and implement action plans.
  • Collaborate with parents in planning for each child and support parental participation and community relations.
  • Ensure the room is fully resourced and facilitate learning experiences aligned with the curriculum.
  • Create a child-led environment that promotes learning through play and other appropriate activities.
  • Implement and promote awareness of equality within the nursery.
  • Support development in Well Being, Literacy, and Mathematics across the setting.
  • Respond to physical needs of children, e.g., toileting, nappy changing.
  • Provide suitable learning experiences for children with additional support needs, following their IEPs.
  • Follow child protection procedures and support children and families through lifestyle changes.
  • Participate in outings adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively within a professional team and with other disciplines.
  • Contribute to staff meetings and share good practice.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Engage in training and maintain CPD records.
  • Be registered with the SSSC or an equivalent body.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
Skills And Qualifications
  • HNC or SVQ III in Childcare and Education or equivalent; registration with the SSSC is required or to be gained.
  • Understanding of child development needs, parental roles, and local/national guidelines.
