Job summary

Grange Park Nursery at Grange Park Prep School in Winchmore Hill, North London is seeking an Early Years Practitioner (Level 2+). The role offers permanent, year-round, full-time or part-time options (4-day week available) with salary up to £30,051 FTE (DOE).

Qualifications

• DfE-approved Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience in nursery/EY setting preferred.
• Good knowledge of EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
• Caring, enthusiastic and positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver play-based learning experiences aligned to each child's interests.
• Create a safe, stimulating, nurturing environment for exploration and development.
• Observe, assess and celebrate progress using EYFS to plan next steps.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Support emotional wellbeing, communication and social development through responsive interactions.
• Maintain accurate observations and learning records for future planning.
• Support transition into school and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards.

What you'll be doing

As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll help create an environment where every child feels safe, happy and excited to learn.

You’ll:

• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that support each child's individual interests, abilities and stage of development.
• Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate and develop confidence through play.
• Observe, assess and celebrate children's progress, using the EYFS framework to plan meaningful next steps in learning.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and carers, working in partnership to support every child's development.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing, communication, independence and social development through warm, responsive interactions.
• Maintain accurate observations, assessments and learning records to celebrate children's achievements and support future planning.
• Make the most of the nursery's close links with the wider school, helping children enjoy a seamless transition into school life.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of care, education and professionalism.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and children's wellbeing remain central to everything you do.

We're looking for someone who has:

• A DfE-approved Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
• A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for giving children the very best start in life.
