Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Nurseries is seeking a dedicated Early Years Assistant to support the delivery of high‑quality childcare for LTHT staff families. You will assist in developing play and planning using the EYFS, settling‑in routines, and recording developmental milestones to inform individual profiles.

You will join a warm, supportive team with flexible shifts and opportunities for training and progression, including access to NHS benefits and staff discounts.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating a warm, inclusive environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development (0–5 years).
  • Knowledge of Ofsted welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the management team to develop, implement and evaluate play and planning using the EYFS for the individual child and family.
  • Support the nursery team and management team in delivering the service and developing quality care.
  • Assist in settling in programmes to meet each child’s and family’s individual needs, including initial contact with parents or carers.
  • Assist in communicating nursery routines and procedures with new parents.
  • Observe, collate, present and record developmental milestones for children’s profiles.
  • Ensure families receive daily positive feedback.
  • Report concerns or family issues to the appropriate manager.

Job Description
