Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Nurseries are hiring an Early Years Professional/Teacher to support the Nursery Manager at LTHT Nurseries. This role leads a small team, delivers high-quality care and education in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements, and helps children to thrive through play-based learning.

You must hold at least a Level 3 UK EY qualification with a recognised Level 5 qualification or teacher status, and be prepared to work 18.75 hours per week at cross-site locations

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 UK recognised early years qualification with a recognised Level 5 early years qualification/teacher status.
• Experience in leading and developing a nursery team in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality early years education.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Lead, mentor and support nursery staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
• Collaborate with families and external agencies to promote child development and wellbeing.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted welfare requirements and local authority initiatives.

What you will bring to the role

• Must be at least a level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification with a recognised level 5 early years qualification/ teacher status.
• You’ll be responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and the nursery’s policies and procedures.
• You’ll play a large part in helping to lead, mentor, and support the nursery team , promoting a positive, collaborative, and professional culture while ensuring staff development and performance are maintained to a high standard.
• You’ll help the manager to collaborate with a range of individuals, building strong, trusting relationships with families and external agencies, supporting each child’s development and wellbeing, and ensuring the nursery is always prepared for Ofsted inspections.
• Excellent understanding of EYFS.
• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
• Have experience at managing day care settings with knowledge of all Ofsted Welfare Requirements for children and inspection procedures
• You’ll have experience supporting team members to achieve good outcomes of Ofsted inspections, Quality Assurance Schemes, Local Authority initiatives.
