Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd partners with a large chain of private day nurseries to recruit unqualified Early Years Teaching Assistants. You will support the nursery team in providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children from babies upwards.

No formal Early Years qualification is required, but you must have some experience with children and be keen to develop your skills within a nursery setting. DBS update or application is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with or caring for children.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for and obtain an Enhanced DBS.
• Ability to provide professional references covering the last 2 years of employment and/or education.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning, development and play.
• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
• Assist with personal care duties, including diaper/nappy changing.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Assist with activities that promote development and curiosity.
• Support the wider nursery team with day-to-day duties.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times.
• Care for children with patience, kindness and respect.
