Job summary

Oake, Bradford and Nynehead VC Primary is seeking an Early Years leader to plan, deliver and review engaging opportunities for a mixed Reception and Year 1 class. The role includes leading EYFS practice, ensuring an ambitious curriculum, and supporting a smooth transition to Key Stage 1.

The post involves driving phonics and early reading across the school, overseeing Little Wandle implementation, and coordinating SEND support with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Early Years and phonics/early reading initiatives.
• Knowledge of SEND policy and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and review EYFS learning opportunities in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.
• Lead development of high-quality Early Years practice and ensure ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum.
• Oversee assessment to identify next steps and inform provision.
• Support transition from Reception to Year 1 and collaborate with Little Acorns Nursery.
• Lead phonics and early reading using Little Wandle programme and monitor reading development.
• Coordinate SEND provision, maintain SEND records and support parents in decisions about provision.
