Job summary

Childbase Partnership is hiring a Kitchen Assistant in Swindon at Windmill Hill Day Nursery. The role involves preparing meals for up to 94 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, with shifts Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 18:30. Permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Salary £25,096.50 per annum (pro-rata) or £12.87 per hour. You will work to high hygiene standards, follow COSHH guidelines, and support safeguarding while collaborating with the Nursery Cook to cover food prep

Qualifications

• Professional catering experience enabling preparation of meals from set-menu using fresh ingredients.
• Knowledge of COSHH, allergens and manual handling to maintain high hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wholesome meals for up to 94 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Maintain 5-star hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Safeguard and meet dietary needs of every child.
• Collaborate with the Nursery Cook to cover food prep in absence of the cook.
