Job summary

Bright Horizons Cheshunt Day Nursery and Preschool is hiring an Early Years Housekeeper. You will maintain a clean, safe environment for children and families, ensuring hygiene in child bathrooms and changing areas, and supporting daily laundry and nursery tasks throughout the day.

Previous cleaning experience, COSHH/Health & Safety awareness, and good communication with staff, children and parents are essential. This role is based at Cheshunt with early shifts.

Qualifications

• Cleanliness and hygiene focus for nursery environments.
• COSHH and Health & Safety knowledge are required.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Keep the nursery clean and safe for children, staff and families.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene in bathrooms and nappies areas.
• Carry out daily laundry and assist with nursery tasks as needed (e.g. mealtimes, equipment cleaning).

Salary – Starting from £27,976 full time equivalent

Location - Cheshunt, Waltham Cross

Shifts - 5am - 12pm (or similar hours)

Hours - Monday- Friday, 30-40 hours per week

We’re looking for an Early Years Housekeeper to join our Bright Horizons Cheshunt Day Nursery and Preschool. The nursery is situated close to Theobalds Train Stationin a beautiful Edwardian building with state-of-the-art facilities, Cheshunt Day Nursery and Preschool is an Ofsted rated Good nursery providing exceptional care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The Role

As an Early Years Housekeeper, you will keep the nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, colleagues, and families. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children's bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day, carry out daily laundry as required, and be prepared to help with additional nursery tasks where required, such as supporting over mealtimes and cleaning of equipment.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience of cleaning within a domestic or commercial property


• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post


• Sound knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements


• Great communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents
