Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with Early Years experience to join a welcoming Hyde primary school from September 2026.

The role focuses on supporting teaching and learning in the Early Years, delivering age-appropriate activities, planning with the class teacher, and providing targeted support to individuals and groups to boost confidence and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in Early Years or primary setting.
• UK classroom experience (6+ months).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Nurturing, patient, child-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver engaging learning activities across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Plan and prepare learning opportunities with the class teacher.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Create a warm, inclusive learning environment.
• Support children's development across communication, language, physical, social and emotional areas.
• Observe and contribute to assessment and progress tracking.
