Job summary

MiChild Group is seeking an Early Years Educator for supply cover at Teddies Day Nursery, Royal Oldham Hospital Grounds. The role offers a competitive hourly salary and opportunities for development within a supportive nursery group.

Requirements include Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, strong EYFS understanding, safeguarding knowledge, and excellent communication with children and families. Shifts rotate weekly to ensure coverage.

• Experience in nursery or with children aged 0-5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide supply cover as Early Years Educator across 0-5 age groups.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and support nursery routines.
• Support learning through play and developmentally appropriate activities.

About MiChild at Teddies Day Nursery

Teddies Day Nursery, proudly rated “Good” by Ofsted, has a capacity of 56 children and has been part of the MiChild family since March 2020. Nestled within the Royal Oldham Hospital grounds, we serve both NHS and local families with dedication and warmth. Our nursery boasts four spacious, light‑filled playrooms and a large enclosed outdoor area that inspires imaginative exploration, independence, and safe risk‑taking. We champion the belief that there’s no such thing as bad weather—only unsuitable clothing!

What We’re Looking For

• A full and relevant Level 2 Early Years or Level 3 Early Years qualification (UK recognised)*
• A strong understanding of the EYFS and child development
• Demonstrated, robust safeguarding knowledge and awareness
• Previous experience of working in a nursery environment or with children aged 0‑5 years
• Excellent communication skills, able to rapidly build relationships with children, parents and the nursery team
• Flexible, adaptable and passionate about inspiring little minds

Please note this role is supply based only

Shift Patterns

This role operates on a rotating weekly shift schedule to ensure coverage and flexibility. You will alternate between early and late shifts on a week‑by‑week basis.

• Early Shift: 7.00am -4.00pm
• Late Shift: 8.30am-6.00pm
