Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Bishopthorpe in York is offering a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship. You’ll divide time between 20% off-the-job training and the rest gaining hands-on experience in a vibrant, nurturing setting that supports early learning and development.

You’ll build warm relationships with children and families, and participate in daily routines while upholding high safety and hygiene standards throughout your role.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level education and experience working with children preferred for level 3.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting development.
  • Positive, proactive approach to learning and teamwork.
  • Commitment to completing apprenticeship tasks and training with enthusiasm.

Qualifications required

Skills required
  • Pretending to eat playdough creations realistically is required, and that of drinking numerous cups of pretend tea
  • You must have the ability to read a ten-page fairy-tale, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page
  • Having a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special
  • You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to be a large part of your working day
  • Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families; there is simply no other job quite like this one

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
