Job description

You will be based at a Primary School which is part of the Harmony Trust. The Harmony Trust is a multi-academy and school-led organisation based in Oldham and Derby. The Trust was established in February 2014 with the core aim of raising attainment in local schools. The Trust holds high aspirations for its pupils, parents, and staff members, working diligently to ensure every child achieves their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting child-initiated and adult-led activities tailored to the needs and interests of each individual child.
2. Assisting with observation and assessment of children.
3. Collaborating with team members to ensure each child feels safe and secure.
4. Working in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers, and other professionals.
5. Maintaining a duty of care and adhering to safeguarding procedures.
6. Upholding and promoting the school's values and ethos.
7. Implementing and following the school's policies, including those related to customer care, finance, data protection, ICT, health & safety, anti-bullying, and safeguarding/child protection.
8. Taking a proactive approach to health and safety, working with others to minimise hazards and risks, and contributing to school security, such as challenging strangers on the premises.
9. Participating in workplace learning and development opportunities to improve personal and team performance.
10. Attending and engaging in relevant meetings.
11. Performing any additional duties appropriate to the role.

This position involves working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. The role is 35 hours per week, during 39 weeks per year, term-time only.
