Qualifications

Job description

Reports To: Nursery Manager

Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays

Our nurseries are currently open from 7:30am-6pm, but these can change from time to time. Our current shift patterns start from 7:20am and finish at 6:20pm. Generally, we like our team to work over 5-days, but will try and accommodate 4-day weeks for those that prefer to consolidate their hours. To ensure our nurseries run compliantly, your shift patterns will vary each week unless we have agreed Flexible Working with you. As part of your role, some evening and weekend work will be required. This will be paid or given back as TOIL - and we’ll let you know arrangements ahead of time.

As a Qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator, you will apply your in-depth knowledge and early year’s experience to deliver all aspects of our service, including planning and facilitating purposeful learning opportunities, meeting each child’s individual needs through close monitoring and observations, and ensuring our high standards are maintained in all areas of your nursery setting. Alongside this, you will effectively collaborate and support the Senior Early Years Educators whilst being a role model to those Educators training towards their qualification. You will also have the opportunity to be responsible for a Designated Role such as SENDCO and access a pathway of continuous professional and personal development to support your career goals and progression with Cherubs Nurseries.

Description of Duties

Deliver: Deliver an amazing service, for both our children and families

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an excellent service for children and families.
• Ensure the environment and nursery are kept safe, secure, and clean, adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Be a role model for children, demonstrating best practices to colleagues.
• Keep toys, equipment, and furniture clean and in good working order, sterilising toys when necessary or required by policy.
• Assist in supervising meal times, making them a learning opportunity for children.
• Give parents and carers a warm welcome and concise handover at the end of the day.
• Stay compliant with all Cherubs Nurseries policies and procedures.

Take Ownership: Take ownership in everything, always being honest and transparent

• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Complete Blossom for all key children, meeting targets and providing detailed accounts based on the EYFS.
• Ensure your room and nursery are well-presented with organized resources and engaging displays.

Commit: Commit to continuous improvement, always striving to be and do your best

• Present yourself professionally at all times, dressed appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality inside and outside the workplace.
• Work towards your childcare qualification, meeting targets and staying up-to-date with coursework.
• Attend required training, which may include outside of working hours.
• Complete relevant PLA training within 7 days of issue.

• Assist in planning and delivering indoor and outdoor activities to maintain children's interests and development.

• Work under the guidance of Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, and Senior Educators.
• Mentor new Apprentice Nursery Practitioners, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Undertake a Designated Role such as Language Lead or iPad Specialist to enhance team knowledge.
• Share received information promptly with relevant parties.
• Maintain professional relationships with parents, staff, and suppliers.
• Attend staff events, some outside of hours or on weekends.
• Undertake other duties within the scope of your role.

Your Qualifications And Experience

• Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent)
• GCSE Level Pass (4 or above) in English and Maths
• At least 3 years of experience in a childcare setting
