Job summary

Flow Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Deputy Nursery Manager for a network of bespoke nurseries in Peacehaven. The role focuses on supporting EYFS implementation, planning oversight, and partnerships with families to ensure high-quality care and education.

The successful candidate will have NVQ 3 or equivalent, nursery room/team management experience, and a solid understanding of safeguarding. A management qualification is desirable but not essential. Opportunities for progression exist.

Qualifications

• Childcare and education qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience managing a room or team in a nursery setting.
• Sound understanding of EYFS and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the EYFS, overseeing planning and record keeping.
• Promote partnerships with parents and carers.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with Local Authority departments and regulators.
• Stay updated on childcare policies and practices.
• Assist with nursery accounts and management information.

Education

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Qualifications & Experience

• A childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3
• Previous experience of managing a room or team within a nursery setting
• A formal management qualification is desirable although not essential
• A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Key Responsibilities

• To support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including overseeing planning and record keeping
• Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members
• Support with the development of and maintaining highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies
• Remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policies and practices
• Assist the Manager with maintaining accurate accounts for the nursery and produce management information in accordance with company procedures
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of regular staff, planning and parent meetings and other events.
