Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an Early Years Assistant for Pontefract and surrounding areas in private day nurseries. You will support children across settings, helping with daily routines and play-based learning to foster development in a caring environment.

The role involves flexible day-to-day work with potential permanent opportunities, requiring at least six months’ childcare experience and knowledge of EYFS. Staff are paid PAYE with a focus on safe, supportive recruitment practices.

The nurturing settings are committed to providing safe, stimulating and engaging environments where children can learn, play and thrive through high quality early years education.

We are looking to appoint Early Years Assistants on a day-to-day basis, with permanent opportunities also available. The successful Early Years Assistant will support children across the nurseries, assisting with daily routines, encouraging learning through play and helping to create a positive and inclusive environment for every child.

Requirements

• A minimum of six months' experience working within a childcare setting
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
• A willingness to support across different age groups where required
