Job summary

Ellesmere Children’s Centre in Sheffield is seeking a motivated Level 3 Early Years Apprentice. You will develop key-worker skills while supporting learning and working alongside qualified practitioners in a busy nursery.

You will focus on on-the-job learning, completing the Level 3 apprenticeship and progressing to roles such as Room Leader or Manager on the path to a career in early years education.

Qualifications

  • Essential GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above.
  • Desirable Early Years practitioner/childcare qualification (level 2).

Responsibilities

  • Support children’s development in line with the EYFS.
  • Assist with observations and learning records.
  • Support daily routines, activities and transitions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues and parents.

Job description

Introduction

We are looking for a motivated Level 3 Early Years Apprentice who is ready to develop their skills and take on increasing responsibility within the nursery.

You will work closely with qualified practitioners, support children’s learning and begin developing key-worker skills as part of your training.

What You'll Do

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

  • Work in partnership with colleagues and parents

  • Previous experience with children (preferred)
  • Commitment to completing the Level 3 qualification
  • Passion for early years education
  • Team player with a nurturing approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding (training provided)
Training Outcome

Once Qualified as An Early Years Educator you could progress to:
