Job summary

Westerham Day Nursery is offering an exciting apprenticeship in the toddler 2-3's room where you will gain a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. You’ll support children’s learning through play, form meaningful relationships with children, families and your team, and develop practical skills in a friendly, supportive environment.

Working hours are Monday to Friday with shifts and ongoing training through BEST PRACTICE NETWORK LIMITED to help you progress in early years.

Qualifications

• Aspiring apprentice seeking Early Years Educator Level 3.
• Willingness to complete NVQ 3 or equivalent training.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, play and learning activities for children across ages and stages.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment for all children's needs and backgrounds.
• Communicate with parents about children's needs and progress.
• Observe and assess children, raise concerns with line manager.
• Maintain attendance and contact details records.
• Attend courses and meetings to build skills.
• Complete tests, assignments and tasks as part of the apprenticeship.
• Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to support children.
• Follow policies and procedures of the setting.

Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our team within the toddler 2-3's room. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ambitious and want to gain playworker qualification while getting experience. You'll create meaningful relationships with the children, your team and with parents.

What You'll Do

• Supporting children: Providing care, play, and learning activities for children of different ages and developmental stages
• Creating a safe environment: Ensuring the environment is inclusive and appropriate for children's needs and cultural backgrounds
• Communicating with parents: Sharing information about children's needs and progress with parents and carers
• Observing and assessing children: Monitoring children and discussing concerns with a line manager
• Maintaining records: Keeping records of attendance, contact details, and other relevant information
• Attending courses: Participating in courses and meetings to develop skills and knowledge
• Completing tasks: Completing tests, assignments, and other tasks as part of the apprenticeship
• Working with others: Collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to meet children's needs
• Following policies:Adhering to policies and procedures relevant to the work of the setting

Training Outcome

The Early Years Educator Level 3 is an advanced apprenticeship equivalent to an NVQ 3. You could progress to the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship and do further training to reach Early Years Teacher Status.
