Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council's Early Learning & Childcare service is recruiting an Early Learning & Childcare Lead Practitioner for Gartcosh Primary School & Nursery Class. You will lead, plan and deliver engaging learning experiences for a new nursery, working closely with families and colleagues to foster a nurturing, high-quality environment.

You will have an HNC in Childcare, PVG clearance, and a commitment to continuous professional learning as part of a proactive ELC team.

North Lanarkshire Council's Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) service is dedicated to ensuring the care, wellbeing, and positive development of young children.

We are currently recruiting Early Learning & Childcare Lead Practitioner, 35hrs per week on a Term Time basis at the following location:

Gartcosh Primary School & Nursery Class, Gartcosh Community Hub, 1 Auldyards Road, Gartcosh, G69 8GX

Gartcosh Nursery Class will be a new facility within a new build Gartcosh Primary School. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the set up and creation of the nursery as we continue to build a nurturing, inspiring, and high-quality early years environment. They will play a key role in creating, leading, and inspiring a dedicated team, fostering a positive culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous development. Working closely with colleagues, children, and families, they will be committed to providing outstanding care and learning experiences that enable every child to thrive, reach their full potential, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

You will be a proactive and valued member of the Early Learning & Childcare team, leading, supporting and nurturing children through the creation of engaging and stimulating learning experiences. You will contribute to delivering a high-quality, child-centred service that meets the individual needs of young children and their families.

The role involves actively participating in the planning, development, and coordination of learning programmes within the Early Learning & Childcare setting, ensuring positive outcomes for all children.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with children, parents, carers, colleagues, and partner professionals.

Applicants should have experience working within an Early Learning & Childcare environment and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning and development.

The successful applicant should have an HNC in Childcare (or equivalent qualification) and relevant experience.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
