Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Breakfast Club Assistant to supervise children before the school day starts. The role covers breakfast supervision, promoting positive conduct and maintaining a clean dining area in the school grounds.

Experience with children in school or voluntary settings is ideal. PVG scheme membership is required before starting. Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:00–09:00, term-time 39 weeks, temporary until 25/06/2027, with flexible working options discussed.

Qualifications

  • You will ideally have experience working with children in a school situation or voluntary capacity.
  • You will be a positive, approachable and pleasant individual with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will be punctual, reliable, have a basic knowledge of hygiene and cleanliness and also have the ability to execute routine tasks on your own initiative as well as working to the instructions of the Head Teacher.

Are you looking for morning work with children? Are you enthusiastic about working with children? Then a Breakfast Club Assistant post may be just what you are looking for.

Your main duties will involve ensuring our children are safe and happy in the morning before the start of the School day. You will help to work as part of the local team and as directed by the Head Teacher to supervise children during breakfast time in the school grounds, assisting with their welfare and promoting positive conduct in line with council policy and procedures. You will also be responsible for cleaning tables and any spillages, ensuring the dining area is clean and tidy at all times.

You will ideally have experience working with children in a school situation or voluntary capacity.You will be a positive, approachable and pleasant individual with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be punctual, reliable, have a basic knowledge of hygiene and cleanliness and also have the ability to execute routine tasks on your own initiative as well as working to the instructions of the Head Teacher.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Friday: 08:00am - 09:00am

This position is on a term time basis of 39 weeks.

This position is temporary until 25/06/2027.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
