Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is recruiting two Early Learning & Childcare Support Workers for Gartcosh Primary School & Nursery Class on a 30-hour week, term-time basis. The posts involve helping plan, develop and deliver high-quality learning experiences for young children in a new nursery within the school.

Successful candidates will register with the SSSC for Support Worker Level and be willing to join the PVG scheme.

Qualifications

  • Applicants do not require experience working within an ELC environment but should have a keen interest in this area and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning and development.

  • Support the planning, development, and co-ordination of learning programmes within the ELC setting to ensure positive outcomes for all children.
  • Support and nurture children through engaging and stimulating learning experiences.
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with children, parents, carers, colleagues and partner professionals.

Job description

North Lanarkshire Council's Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) service is dedicated to ensuring the care, wellbeing, and positive development of young children.

We are currently recruiting 2 x Early Learning & Childcare Support Worker's on a 30hrs per week on a Term Time basis at the following location:

Gartcosh Primary School & Nursery Class, Gartcosh G69 8GX

Gartcosh Nursery Class will be a new facility within a new build Gartcosh Primary School. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the set up and creation of the nursery as we continue to build a nurturing, inspiring, and high-quality early years environment. They will play a key role in working closely with colleagues, children, and families, they will be committed to providing outstanding care and learning experiences that enable every child to thrive, reach their full potential, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

You will be a proactive and valued member of the ELC team, supporting and nurturing children through engaging and stimulating learning experiences. You will contribute to delivering a high-quality, child-centred service that meets the individual needs of young children and their families.

The role involves actively supporting the planning, development, and co-ordination of learning programmes within the ELC setting, ensuring positive outcomes for all children.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with children, parents, carers, colleagues and partner professionals.

Applicants do not require experience working within an ELC environment but should have a keen interest in this area and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning and development.

Successful candidates will be required to register and comply with the registration requirements for Support Worker Level with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required. Applicants who are not currently members must be willing to join the scheme and obtain a satisfactory scheme record or scheme record update.
