Job summary

Warrington Borough Council’s Children Social Care service is seeking an Early Help social worker on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on early support for families before and during initial assessments to determine ongoing needs for children.

You will work within the Duty & Assessment team, handle initial assessments, and contribute to Child in Need and Section 47 assessments, with SWE registration required and sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Social work qualification or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Social Work England (SWE) registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with early help services to support families before and during the initial assessment period.
• Contribute to Duty & Assessment team activities and initial assessments to determine ongoing level of need.
• Contribute to Child in Need and Section 47 assessments within the team.
