If you're finishing your A-Levels, BTEC studies or equivalent qualifications and looking to launch a professional career, our Early Careers Trainee Programme in Accounts could be the perfect next step.

The programme is designed for individuals ready to begin a rewarding career in accountancy. You'll gain hands‑on experience, professional training and support towards a recognised qualification, helping you develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in accounts.

About Us

You’ll be joining a friendly, professional team where enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn are valued just as highly as experience.

From day one, you'll gain practical experience supporting the preparation of accounts and working with a variety of clients across different industries. You'll learn how businesses operate, develop your technical accounting knowledge and build strong professional skills in a supportive environment.

As your confidence grows, so will your responsibilities. You'll have opportunities to work directly with clients, contribute to projects and take on increasingly challenging work as you progress through your training.

We'll provide the technical training, study support and personal development opportunities you need to build a strong foundation for a long‑term career in accountancy. Along the way, you'll be supported by experienced colleagues who are committed to helping you succeed and reach your full potential.

The Programme

You’ll join a training contract, combining practical client experience with professional study towards your AAT Level 3 qualification.

Alongside your qualification, you’ll become part of the Sumer Academy – our dedicated early careers development programme. The Academy runs alongside your studies, offering a blend of online, virtual and in‑person learning focused on building both your technical skills and the soft skills that will help you thrive in your future career.

You’ll also train as part of a group‑wide cohort, connecting with other trainees from across the Sumer Group to share experiences and learn together.

To apply, you’ll need a strong A-Level or equivalent academic background, including a minimum of a Grade C/5 in English and B/6 Maths at GCSE level (or equivalent).

You’ll also be:
