As an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you’ll have the opportunity to work across primary or secondary schools depending on your preference, supporting learners while gaining hands-on classroom experience. You’ll be guided by experienced mentors and have access to ongoing professional development to grow your confidence and teaching skills.

Early Career Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support student progress
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, offering constructive feedback
• Contribute to the wider school community through active participation in school events and activities

Requirements for an ECT:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
• Recent completion of teacher training and eligibility to work as an ECT in the UK
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils
• A positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
