Job summary

Star Academies is seeking a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to pupils at Small Heath Leadership Academy in Birmingham. You will contribute to an outstanding learning environment and help pupils succeed.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills, and will support learning and teaching while building relationships across the school and Star community.

Qualifications

  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of working in a school or other organisation with children of relevant age to promote learning.
  • Experience of working with students with additional educational needs (desirable).
  • Understanding and knowledge of issues relating to students who have little or no English.
  • Knowledge of how to access support from internal/external agencies.

About Small Heath Leadership Academy

Small Heath Leadership Academy is a secondary school in Birmingham. We joined Star Academies in 2018 and, like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism.

The school was rated ‘good’ in all four areas of the inspection framework during its inspection in May 2022.

You will have:
  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Recent experience of working in a school or other organisation with children of relevant age to promote learning.
  • Experience of working with students with additional educational needs, more able, special educational needs (desirable).
  • Understanding and knowledge of the issues relating to students who have little or no English.
  • Knowledge of how to access support from internal/ external agencies.
