Who will you be working with?

Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.

Role: Planning Manager

Salary: £Competitive

Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 15:45pm and Friday 07:30am to 15:15pm

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

As a Planning Manager you will oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to align efforts and achieve overarching business objectives. Your leadership and strategic vision will be crucial in driving the success and continuous improvement of our projects and initiatives.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Accurately forecasting demand to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Maintaining appropriate safety stock levels to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Leading initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Categorising inventory to prioritise management efforts.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate order processing and delivery.
  • Collaborating with sales and operations teams to align supply and demand.
  • Overseeing and developing team members to achieve high performance.
  • Accelerating processes to meet urgent demands.
  • Creating and managing production schedules.
  • Coordinating the movement of goods to ensure timely delivery.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Ideally you will hold a diploma or equivalent qualification in Planning, Logistics, Inventory, or Scheduling.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and planning/scheduling environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Practical experience with lean tools and techniques.
  • Proven track record of working within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Excellent understanding of MPS (Master Production Schedule) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and transactions.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
