Role overview

Job Summary
Ripon Farm Services is a family owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 13 sites within Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

As a People Specialist, you will champion the employee experience journey and advise on a diverse range of employee relations cases across the group (such as performance management, conflict resolution, absence and ill health, grievance, and disciplinary). This will involve supporting line managers in creating an environment where employee concerns and conflicts are resolved compliantly while fostering effective communication channels to promote a culture of openness, trust, and mutual respect. You will play a crucial role in building the Employee Experience and the HR team and processes.

There will be a requirement to travel to depots.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Group HR Manager to grow and develop the Employee Experience and People strategy aligned with business goals and values.
  • Coach line managers to improve capabilities using Performance and Talent systems, dealer systems, and other ER tools through 1-1s, appraisals, training needs, and goal setting.
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and development to resolve ER cases effectively, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
  • Mediate and facilitate conflict resolution promoting open communication and mutual understanding.
  • Manage the end-to-end ER caseload, supporting case managers to ensure fair and unbiased decisions.
  • Collaborate with case managers to resolve cases efficiently, mitigating organizational risks.
  • Support employees' health and well-being proactively.
  • Promote best HR practices and stay updated on employment law to foster diversity, inclusion, and integrity within the HR team.
  • Assist with general HR admin within a busy team.
Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent degree/experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Employee Relations or HR advisory roles in medium to large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, disciplinary and grievance processes, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing ER cases with attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Proven coaching experience in investigations and employee relations with sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective relationship building at all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training materials with coaching skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and responsible approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
