CFC provides flexibility to staff working arrangements; however, being available to work directly with children outside of school days is essential. Work is typically Mon – Fri, but some weekend work will be required.

What can Community Foster Care give to you?

  • Dedicated to providing a positive work /life balance culture, including flexible hybrid working once established in post
  • Reflective learning culture with access to excellent training
  • Staff team supported with regular access to psychotherapists
  • Company pension & Life Insurance
  • Enhanced sick & maternity benefits
  • Free flu jabs
  • Free parking

Are you the right person for the job?

  • A commitment and alignment with Community Foster Care’s Values
  • A resolve to make effective use of critical reflection, utilising the various fora to do this with others
  • A dedication to personal growth, including a willingness to embrace challenges and actively seek constructive feedback
  • An aptitude to ensure efficient and effective use of CFC’s resources and funds relevant to your role, including the consideration of the commercial aspects of a fostering service
  • The capacity to be a highly functioning team player
  • A fidelity to anti-oppressive practice, underpinned by an understanding and promotion of equality and diversity
  • A driving licence and access to a car are essential

What will your role look like?

  • Work directly with the foster family and the children to provide purposeful, outcomes-led interventions in accordance with their assessment of need and with CFC’s Care Plan
  • Provide emergency support to foster families as and when required
  • Plan and provide group-based interventions and activities, including a residential experience for children, young people, carers or families
  • Undertake introductory and maintain relationship-building visits with children when they join and remain with CFC’s foster families
  • Promote and facilitate the participation of children & young people in decision-making affecting their lives, as well as views regarding CFC
  • Support Children and Young People to express their views and promote their views and voices in relevant forums and processes, such as reviews
  • To contribute to the ongoing assessment of the child/ren within the foster family, including contributing to specific assessments (e.g. What’s my Story and outcomes assessments)
  • To undertake and comply with Risk Assessments to promote positive engagement in line with CFC policy, such as Activity Risk Assessment
  • To undertake unannounced visits to foster families in line with agreed expectations
  • Maintain case files and other records in line with CFC’s Policy and Practice
  • Deliver appropriate training to foster families to meet their needs (such as Safer Care training)
  • To attend and contribute to other meetings as required, i.e. strategy meetings, foster family supervision, case reviews, working parties and training courses

At Community Foster Care, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants will undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and enhanced DBS clearance.

By joining Community Foster Care, you will become part of a dynamic, mission-driven charity committed to creating real change. You will lead a team that plays a vital role in ensuring our work runs smoothly, helping us provide life-changing support to children and families.
