Job Purpose

We are seeking to appoint an academic librarian to support our Science and Engineering subjects at our Medway campus. The role is part of the Academic and Digital Skills Team, which plays a vital role in the student academic journey, supporting transition, attainment, continuation, and progression. Candidates with Science and Engineering experience are particularly encouraged to apply, along with librarians from other backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver high-quality library services to staff and students across the university.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for academic schools and departments within a faculty.
3. Collaborate with other librarians to support faculties, with the portfolio potentially evolving over time.
4. Work as part of a large team to deliver digital, information, and academic skills training, both online and in person, embedded into academic programs.
5. Attend departmental meetings and manage relationships with key faculty staff, such as program leaders.
6. Develop print and digital collections for the subjects.
7. Contribute to and lead team projects as required.
8. Support the delivery of the university's Student Success Strategy and Digital Strategy, ensuring support across campuses and faculties.
