Job description

Our Library Clerk will assist in maintaining a high standard of support service to the directorates and departments throughout Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, with their requirements regarding patients' case notes.

  1. Delivering high volumes of patient records to various departments around the Hospital
  2. Adhering to the Health Records delivery schedule
  3. Involve repetitive heavy lifting of patient records in boxes and bags
  4. When working in the library there will be an expectation to retrieve and file case notes accurately and in a timely manner
  5. Ability to work under pressure both independently and as a team player
  6. Maintain accuracy when pulling and filing case notes within the Health Records Library
  7. Maintain confidentiality at all times
  8. Pulling and filing of case notes within the Health Records Library
  9. Tracing, sending and delivering case notes in Medical Records boxes/bags
  10. Delivering and collecting case notes from various pick up points throughout the hospital
  11. Moving boxes of records to dispatch areas
  12. Answer and action requests from the A&E telephone
  13. Cover the service desk and action requests
  14. Locating misfiled notes within the Records Library
